At Acre Rigg Infant School, we are committed to the equal inclusion of all pupils in all areas of school life. We recognise the diverse and individual needs of all of our pupils and take into account the additional support required by those children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

At Acre Rigg Infant School we are committed to equality.We are committed to providing an education that includes and stimulates all children regardless of their background or personal circumstances. We have pupils with a wide range of abilities and different needs and endeavour to include them in all activities, providing them with the opportunity to fulfil their full potential. We recognise that some pupils will need extra support and adaptations to access the school curriculum and to participate in school activities.

Acre Rigg Infant School has a dedicated Special Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO).
The role supports all families in the transition for all SEN pupils working closely with multi-agencies and partnerships to ensure that their learning journey is a happy and successful one.
Normal admissions procedures apply, however where a Special Educational Need or Disability is identified the school would work with parents/carers and other agencies involved to ensure that appropriate provision could be provided.
